A woman was injured after falling from a dam in Berkshire County.

The woman fell about 15 feet and landed on her side and shoulder, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.

It happened Thursday night off Mountain Drive, on the Pittsfield-Dalton border.

The woman was rescued with the help of a stretcher, which had to be lowered down an embankment and across 300 feet of rough terrain.

She was flown to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield.

She is expected to survive, the Dalton fire chief told the paper.
