A 17-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a youth last summer in Watervliet.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of July 7 at 7^th Street Park. Watervliet Police said the suspect attacked the juvenile victim with a knife. Officers found the victim with multiple stab wounds.

Police initially could not find the suspect. Investigators finally were able to identify and arrest the suspect on Jan. 30.

The suspect’s name is not being released because of his age. He has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault and second-degree assault. The man was arraigned in Albany County Court and sent to the Capital District Juvenile Secure Detention Facility.
