One barbershop in Troy is doing more than giving haircuts. The Cornerstone Barbershop on Sixth Avenue is helping change lives for the better.
A couple of barbers and one friend started a nonprofit two months ago called Guidelines and Company Inc.
Robert Stallings came to the Cornerstone Barbershop to get a haircut. Christopher Nunes cut Stallings' hair. The two started talking and formed a friendship.
They knew they wanted to give back to the community. They have given people free groceries, toiletries and even free haircuts. Stallings says they have purchased a vacant building on Seventh Avenue in Troy. The goal is to turn that property into sobriety transitional housing.
