Troy Mayor Pat Madden joined with Ethan Baker, the mayor of Troy, Michigan for the start of the countdown Thursday morning. Baker's dad actually grew up in Albany.

Madden is inviting people from other Troys in other states to participate this year.

This is the 73rd year for the Troy Turkey Trot.
