Democrats will once again control the New York State Senate and Assembly next year. They are being urged once again to focus on criminal justice reform.
More than 150 advocacy groups unveiled their Justice Roadmap 2021 on Tuesday.
It's a new campaign to protect communities of color and immigrants against criminalization.
The groups want elderly inmates released from state prisons, changes to solitary confinement rules, and legalization of marijuana in New York.
The New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly will be controlled by Democrats in the next session. It will open on January 6.
