Cities in the Capital Region have planned more protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

On Friday, there will be a protest in Glens Falls. They’re asking everyone to wear a mask and social distancing will be required.

The protest will start with a rally at noon at City Park behind the Crandall Public Library. The march will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The event is not only to remember and honor George Floyd, but also to do the same for thousands of others who have lost their lives to racism, organizers said.

In Troy, a Black Lives Matter rally is happening on Sunday. It will begin at 3 p.m. outside the Rensselaer County Courthouse.

The Troy PBA President told protesters on Facebook that police will make sure to assist the group in protesting peacefully and making sure their voices are heard.

He also said they would make sure they feel safe and that their constitutional rights are protected.
