Third-party delivery apps causing financial problems for local restaurants

Capital Region leaders are highlighting issues that local restaurants are dealing with when it comes to third-party delivery apps.

They say the pandemic has made restaurants reliant on companies like Grubhub or DoorDash, with no oversight or cost protections in place.


Now they are asking those companies to give back to the restaurants who have been integral to their success.

The group says in some cases, a 35% to 40% fee is charged to the restaurant for each delivery order.
