Troy police investigating shots fired on 7th Avenue

Troy police are investigating a late Saturday night shooting.

Deputy Chief Dan DeWolf says officers responded to the area of 7th Avenue and Swift Street around 11 p.m.  after hearing what sounded like gunfire.

Upon arrival, several small caliber casings were found according to DeWolf.  

7th Avenue from Swift Street to Park Avenue was secured by patrol officers while evidence technicians processed the scene. Neighbors in the area spoke with police and provided information that may be helpful in the investigation.

DeWolf says a vehicle was struck by gunfire.

There are no reports of injuries or any suspects at this time.
