Troy shooting now homicide investigation; stabbing victim recovering

Troy police are now ruling a Friday night shooting a homicide.

At 10:45 p.m. officers responded to shots fired on Swift Street between 6th and 7th Avenue.


Police found a man who looked to be in his late teens with a shot wound in the torso.

The victim was treated at Albany Medical Center but has died due to his injuries.  

Police also confirm that a Troy man, 36, is now recovering at a local hospital from a stabbing that left him in critical condition.

The stabbing occurred at 10 p.m. Friday in the neighborhood of 5th Avenue and 109th Street.

According to police, the suspect took off in a U-Haul truck.

There are no arrests in either cases.
