Troy purchases 4,400 street lights, will convert to LEDs

The City of Troy completed its purchase of 4,400 street lights from National Grid.

The city will partner with Siemens to convert each of those lights to LEDs to reduce energy costs and save the city more than $378,000 per year.

City Hall has not released a how much the lights cost, but Cohoes recently purchased 1,600 street lights from National Grid at a cost of about $900,000.
