LAKE LUZERNE - Fire investigators are at the Warren County home of television personality Rachael Ray.
The home, deep in the woods on the Chuckwagon Trail in Lake Luzerne, went up in flames around 7:30 p.m. Sunday. County officials said Ray and her family were home at the time, but made it out without any injuries.
NewsChannel 13 had a crew there, but fire officials would not let anyone near the fire. Video sent in by a NewsChannel 13 viewer shows intense flames shooting from the home.
Ray has recorded her daytime TV show at the home since the start of the pandemic.
A spokesperson for Ray released the following statement:
"Rachael, her husband and their dog Bella are safe. The house is unfortunately damaged we don't know to what extent."
Rachael later took to Twitter Monday writing, “Thank you to our local first responders for being kind, gracious and saving what they could of our home. Grateful that my mom, my husband, my dog…we’re all okay. These are the days we all have to be grateful for what we have, not what we’ve lost.”
She later added "I did lose my phone (posting through a team member) Thank you for all the well wishes, concern and outreach, but can't return texts and calls at the moment…"
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Thank you to our local first responders for being kind and gracious and saving what they could of our home. Grateful that my mom, my husband, my dog… we’re all okay. These are the days we all have to be grateful for what we have, not what we’ve lost.
