A Warren County employee will get more than $100,000 in back pay. That's according to NewsChannel 13's media partners at The Post-Star.

Ilana "Laney" Morgan was fired in March 2019. She was accused of using her position to obtain information about a property that was being foreclosed on, so her boyfriend could decide if he wanted to buy it.

A hearing officer found sufficient evidence Morgan was guilty of eight of nine charges and recommended she be fired.

Morgan's lawyer appealed it, and the state Appellate Division of the Supreme Court annulled the decision on the grounds that Morgan was not given due process. That's because the county attorney brought the disciplinary charges, appointed the hearing officer, and testified as a witness at the hearing.
