Businesses in the Lake George area have come up with a new way to assure customers they'll be safe.

At the Inn at Erlowest, they're cleaning, disinfecting and distancing- adopting best practices developed by a Warren County taskforce.

Those best practices recommend ways to keep visitors and employees of hotels, stores, attractions, and restaurants safer from illness.

When businesses pledge to put them into practice, they can post a badge on their storefront and their website.

"We really also want our local community to feel that their neighboring business is being responsible as possible in terms of inviting guests from outside of the area and or the region to enjoy our area,” said Gina Mintzer of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Officials say you can expect to see the badges going up in windows and on websites in the coming days.
