QUEENSBURY - With forecast temperatures in the high 80s, you typically wouldn't think of going to a ski mountain. However, the operators of West Mountain in Queensbury want you to think of them as more than just a wintertime destination.

It's all part of West Mountain's plan to make the mountain a year-round resort.

The plan is to keep the economic cash flow going over the summer.

West Mountain has a five-acre aerial adventure park with six different high ropes courses.

They even host outdoor adventure camps for kids.

However, if you're more into the views of the Hudson and the Adirondacks than the treetops and the ropes, you can take the chairlift up for a mountaintop meal.

The improvements and year-round attractions are leading to the next big thing, a 180-unit ski and stay resort at the base of the mountain. The hope is to turn Queensbury into a ski town.

Learn when that could be ready by watching the video of Mark Mulholland's story.
