Police in Washington County are trying to figure out why a car ended up in the Champlain Canal in Whitehall and how it is connected to an alleged meth lab.

It happened Sunday just south of Lock 12.

Firefighters and a dive team managed to pull out a Buick, only to find out it belonged to one of two Whitehall men who had been arrested for allegedly running a meth lab at the Budget Inn on Route 4.

Right now, it is still not clear how or why the car ended up in the canal.
