Washington County wants the state to lift a law preventing the sale of alcohol from noon to 3 p.m. on Good Friday.
The county is just one of three in New York where the law still applies.
A few years ago, a store was forced to close after unknowingly violating it.
The county will be asking the State Liquor Authority to lift the restriction, and there will be a public hearing.
The other counties in the state with a similar law are Steuben and Essex.
Will police be out in Washington County this year looking for violators? Hear what the county attorney is saying by watching the video of Mark Mulholland’s story.
