The Nation’s Weather for Saturday, October 8, 2022

A few lake-effect rain showers could dampen far northwestern

Pennsylvania and parts of upstate New York tomorrow.

Meanwhile, spotty afternoon thunderstorms are expected to

develop in the deserts of southeastern California and much

of Arizona. Thundershowers will be more numerous in New

Mexico and southern Colorado and can occur at any time.

Showers will also extend into the Texas Panhandle and as far

north as western Kansas and as far east as central Oklahoma.

A spotty thunderstorm could rumble along the coast in

southeastern Florida, but most of the state should be dry

for continued cleanup in the wake of Hurricane Ian. Tropical

Storm Julia will gain strength over the central Caribbean.

Julia will continue westward and make landfall as a

hurricane in Central America Sunday.
