Top Teacher: Art Erbe – Albany High School CTE

Most educators will tell you there are some essential building blocks to learning in the classroom, but beyond that, there are life skills that can be taught. At the absolute very least, that’s what Art Erbe, a teacher at Albany High School CTE, strives to do for his construction students.

Mr. Erbe worked in the homebuilding sector before becoming a full-time teacher. There is nothing he asks his students to do that he hasn’t already done thousands of times over. That could be anything from building a picnic table, to Adirondack chairs, to sheds or wiring electrical outlets.

Erbe says it’s wonderful working with the students, and the students say they love his humble manner.
