A new survey shows more than 20% of U.S. adults received mental health treatment in the past year.
The CDC’s "National Center for Health Statistics Report" shows 16.5% of adults took prescription medication for their mental health in 2020, while 10% received counseling or therapy.
Women were more likely than men to have received any treatment at all.
That’s consistent with the higher prevalence of conditions such as anxiety and depression seen among women, as well as an increased willingness to seek out care.
