Hudson Valley Community College has decided to continue to comply with SUNY’s COVID vaccination policy. This means students must be vaccinated to attend in-person classes this upcoming fall semester.
HVCC planned on making vaccinations optional, since the college does not have dorms or residence halls. The school also cited the lack of mandates for area high schools. It also pointed to most community in-person events not requiring vaccination proof.
However, the college changed course, saying “permitting vaccination to be optional for in-person students is not feasible at this time.”
So far, 85% of fall semester students have submitted their proof of vaccination.
