TSA sets firearms record at airport checkpoints
More firearms have been caught at TSA checkpoints in 2021 than ever before.
The TSA says that by Oct. 3, their officers had stopped 4,495 airline passengers with firearms. That breaks the full 2019 record of 4,432.
"Firearms, particularly loaded firearms, introduce an unnecessary risk at checkpoints, have no place in the passenger cabin of an airplane, and represent a very costly mistake for the passengers who attempt to board a flight with them," said TSA Administrator David Pekoske.
