Amsterdam man accused of trying to have sex with young girls

Police say a man was arrested in Amsterdam, after being caught trying to meet with young girls.

The man was caught on Woodrow Road by a group of good Samaritans called "Predator Poachers".

Police say it happened Wednesday afternoon.

Predator Poachers is a group of individuals who go undercover to confront sexual predators.

Four people from Predator Poachers confronted 32-year-old Michael Clark near Woodrow Wilson Town Houses in Amsterdam.

Alex Rosen is a member of the group. He says they go online and pose as underage children.

Rosen says on various sites, men and women reach out to them thinking they are underage. They then meet up with the adults and video the encounter.

Rosen says they were communicating with Michael Clark for the last week. Amsterdam police confirm that Clark thought he was going to meeting with an 11-year-old girl. Police say he then requested to meet with a 9 and a 5-year-old girl. Rosen says Clark wanted to meet with multiple underage girls.

"We said, ‘Hey we were the ones the whole time’ and he ended up having a knife on him too," said Rosen. "I asked, ‘Do you have any weapons on you?’ and he pulled out a knife. Who knows what he was going to do with a knife? That’s definitely troublesome that he wanted five kids and also brought a knife to go and meet them."

Clark ended up dropping the knife. He’s being charged with multiple felonies.
