ALBANY – Hundreds of pharmacists gathered to rally in Albany on Tuesday. They’re asking Gov. Hochul to sign into law the Pharmacy Rescue Package.

The package of bills will enact urgently needed protections from prescription drug middlemen, known as pharmacy benefit managers.

Right now, those managers make pharmacies sign a contract to stay in network to sell prescriptions.

The bill also extends the ability for pharmacies to do vaccinations.

It was passed unanimously in June by the New York State Legislature.
