Gov. Hochul is hoping to head off a spike in COVID-19 cases over the holiday season.
She says vaccinations are key to keeping the number of positive cases down. Hochul announced today that 90% of adult New Yorkers have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. She is also creating more opportunities for New Yorkers to get the vaccine.
“Thirteen mass vax sites have reopened. We have pop-up sites all over the state, nearly 200 pop-up sites to take the vaccine and the boosters right out to the communities, focusing on getting the vaccinations available in schools,” said Hochul.
The governor addressed those who may be holding off on getting their booster because they do not want to suffer any side effects for the holidays. She says getting COVID is much worse.
