Inmate death under investigation in Berkshire County

Massachusetts State Police are investigating the death of a person who was being held at the Berkshire County Jail.
It happened around 4 p.m. Sunday, when deputies found the person unresponsive. They were taken to Berkshire Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.
The exact cause of death is under investigation, but state police say early evidence suggests they died as a result of self-harm and investigators do not suspect any foul play.
