Capital Region entrepreneurship up during pandemic

The pandemic hasn’t stopped local entrepreneurs.
In 2020, 9,456 applications to form a business were filed in the eight-county Capital Region, that’s up 3.2%.
That includes a wide range of businesses, including corporations, partnerships, non-profits and sole proprietorships.
In the Capital Region’s eight counties, business formation growth was strongest in Schenectady at 20% and Greene County at 18%.
Some Capital Region businesses that opened in 2020 include: Duck Donuts in Latham, The Spicy Purrito in Schenectady, Bound by Fate Taproom in Schuylerville, Sunshine Meadows Nursery and Landscape Supply in Clifton Park, and Corina Contemporary Jewelry and Glint Glassworks Studio in Ballston Spa.
