A former contractor will spend up to seven years in prison for his role in a contractor fraud scheme.
Prosecutors say 44-year-old Dwight Fiero claimed to be a combat veteran who could build backyard decks.
He collected more than $50,000 in deposits from Capital Region homeowners for work he never did or did poorly.
Fiero used Facebook Marketplace to lure customers.
Attorney General Tish James says he committed these crimes while waiting to be sentenced for a conviction for similar crimes in another county.
