NY state delays Monday’s booster deadline for healthcare workers

New York state’s booster requirement for healthcare workers won’t take effect on Monday as planned.
The state says 75% of the healthcare workforce have either had the booster, or are willing to get it.
However, they are still worried about potential staffing issues, and want to also give people more time to get the shot.
"The reality is that not enough healthcare workers will be boosted by next week’s requirement in order to avoid substantial staffing issues in our already overstressed healthcare system," said State Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Bassett, in a statement.
The original vaccination requirement for healthcare workers remains.

The state says they will reassess boosters for healthcare workers in three months.
