Lanesborough woman pleads guilty to $1 million in larceny charges

Pittsfield, Mass. – Deborah Trybus, 57, of Lanesborough and former office manager for George Apkin and Sons in Adams has been sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to numerous charges.

Detectives of the Adams Police Department discovered she started writing fake checks from the company back in 2012 and was depositing the money into an account she opened for herself.

Trybus plead guilty to six counts of Utter False Check, six counts of Forgery Of Check, six counts of False Entries Into Corporation Records, six counts of Larceny Over $1,200 By Single Scheme and a count of Common and Notorious Thief.

She will spend three to five years in state prison for stealing more than a million dollars from her employer.
