Capital Region distiller getting national spotlight on Discovery Channel

A local distiller is set to appear Wednesday night, March 23, at 9 p.m. on the Discovery Channel show, "Moonshiners: Master Distiller."
Ryan Chip Rhoads is a former distiller at Albany Distilling Company, making vodka, whiskey, canned cocktails and more.
Wednesday night, March 23, he makes his big television debut on "Moonshiners: Master Distiller."
He competes with two other distillers to hopefully win the title of master distiller.
Albany Distilling Company will be having a watch party for Rhoads at its bar on Livingston Avenue.
Rhoads says it’s fun to see the distilled spirits industry boom.
According to an economic impact study by John Dunham and Associates — as of 2020 — New York’s craft distilling industry now features 120 active craft distilleries, which is a 60% increase since 2016.
