Schenectady fire chief retires after 32 years with department

Schenectady Fire Chief Raymond Senecal is retiring after a 32-year career with the department.

A walk out ceremony was held Friday morning.

Chief Senecal spent 18 years as a commanding officer, with 10 of those as deputy chief.

Throughout his long career, he served as a paramedic, arson investigator, and Special Operations Team member.

He also served as the incident commander for hundreds of fires.

A replacement for Senecal has not been announced.
