Other races NewsChannel 13 is following

In addition to the race for governor, NewsChannel 13 is keeping a close eye on big races that will impact the Capital Region.

The 19th Congressional District is first on our list. The district was redrawn earlier this year after the 2020 census to now include Ithaca and Binghamton.   In that race, Democrat Josh Riley is running against Republican Marc Molinaro.

We’re also following the 20th Congressional District which was also redrawn and includes Albany County, Schenectady County, and portions of Montgomery, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties. This race is against Democratic incumbent Paul Tonko from Amsterdam. His challenger is Republican Elizabeth Joy.

There’s also the 21^st Congressional District, which stretches from the Capital Region to the Canadian border. That race is between Republican incumbent Elise Stefanik and Democratic challenger Matt Castelli.
