COLONIE – Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was in Colonie on Friday, showing her support for union organizers at Starbucks.
In late March, employees at the Starbucks in Latham Plaza filed a request with the National Labor Relations Board to hold a vote on whether to start a union.
Employees at the Starbucks in Stuyvesant Plaza filed their request last week.
Gillibrand says she has always advocated for the rights of workers to bargain for fair pay, better benefits and a safe workplace.
As of this month, over 30 Starbucks locations across the country have voted to unionize.
