Even as the COVID-19 pandemic kept people isolated at home, sexually transmitted disease cases increased across the United States.
A new CDC report finds cases fell in the early months of the pandemic, but infections rose again by the end of 2020.
STDs have been increasing in the United States for several years.
The CDC says the increase is because of a decrease in funding public health, which has affected the ability to provide screening, treatment and prevention.
