Capital Region gas nearly $2 more than this time last year

Right now in the Capital Region, the average price for a gallon of regular is now 4.88. That’s up 68¢ in the last month, and it’s almost $2 more expensive than this time last year.
The national average for a gallon of gas has not fallen for nearly a month. Every day since May 10, gas prices have set a new record.
The average price across the United States is now $4.60 a gallon, and prices this Memorial Day Weekend are expected to be the most expensive in history.
