One of this year’s South High Marathon Dance recipients is Jeffrey Marcil, who is battling a very serious illness right now.
Marcil, 59, is now more than a year into a battle with stage 4 colon cancer.
A month after that diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to his liver and lungs, Marcil started an aggressive schedule of chemotherapy – with 3 ½ half hour-long treatments every two weeks and then hooked up to more chemo by an Eddy visiting nurse.
He lost 85 pounds, and says his lowest point came in November of last year, when he tested positive for COVID and was feeling the effects.
Now the 59-year-old father of three is feeling something else – hope, strength and support.
Hear him express his gratefulness to the South High community for everything they’re doing by watching the video of Chris Onorato’s story.
