YWCA receives grant for Human Trafficking Awareness Month
Millions of men, women, and children are victims of human trafficking, and it’s an issue that affects people here in the Capital Region.
The YWCA NorthEastern NY is receiving a grant from Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), to provide funding for safe housing and substance abuse rehab for sex trafficking victims and survivors.
The goal is to hire a counselor to teach warning signs such as malnourished appearance, signs of physical injuries and abuse, and name tattoos on face or chest.
