NewsChannel 13 salutes Air Force Lieutenant Claude Van Schaack of Coxsackie.

The father and grandfather served in the 8th Air Force in England during World War II.

While there, he met his wife of more than 50 years.

He also spent more than 40 years working in the telephone industry.

He passed away in 1999.
