New weapons are headed to police in Berkshire County.
According to our media partners at The Berkshire Eagle, 13 new Tasers, one for each full-time officer, will be coming to the Dalton Police Department.
The paper reports these are coming after Dalton’s police chief had to respond to a call with only four Tasers available for all his officers, and one of them was broken.
Every full-time officer will receive their own, and another will be shared among the city’s three part-time officers.
Funds were approved last week in a select town board meeting.
