The Divine Nine: Highlighting Kappa Alpha Psi

Since January 5, 1911, the men of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity Inc. have used the word “achievement” as their purpose.

That’s why Lyndrell Randle – president of the local grad chapter – chose to become a Kappa.

Born on the campus of Indiana University, Kappa Alpha Psi was founded in an environment saturated in racism. It was once called – Kappa Alpha Nu, but “Nu” got used as a negative slang word.

It’s now been 112 years after his frat was created, and Randle still uses his organization’s purpose in his everyday life – through service, ministry and as a teacher at Green Tech High.
