People finally got the chance to celebrate winter in the Spindle City on Saturday. The Cohoes Winter Carnival was postponed for about a month because of mild temperatures, but as March arrived so did winter and so everyone was ready for the festivities at the Van Schaick Island pond.
The ice was still too thin for people to skate, but there was a big pile of snow for kids to paint.
DPW crews were out all night clearing the roads so the event could go on.
The event is put on every year by the city of Cohoes and the Van Schaick Island neighborhood watch.
