Indiana woman, 93, leading exercises classes at senior home

Betty Stetler, 93, of Indiana went from being a participant in Tanglewood Terrace’s exercise classes to teaching them.

Directors at the assisted living community say her class is the most popular one.

Stelter is a former gym teacher. She also has back problems, is legally blind and wears glasses. That doesn’t stop her.

She focuses on balance and mobility, while helping residents stay independent.

Stelter started as a participant in the class, but took over when the former instructor got a new job.

The enjoyment of the other residents makes her the happiest, she said.
