Southern Adirondack Family Health in Queensbury is not open for business just yet, but that has not stopped the phone from ringing off the hook.
Word has gotten around that a new family practice is coming to town, but the woman who runs it, Family
Nurse Practitioner Kathleen Emerson, is not new to the field of health care. Her resume says it all. Emerson has gone from working at a medical supply company to becoming an EMT.
She worked in patient care at Glens Falls Hospital, earned a bachelor’s and master’s, then worked in the emergency room.
She left to work at a family practice center, but learned last December that the facility would close.
When she learned the practice would close, Emerson – who could have retired – did something unselfish.
She decided to start her own family practice.
The community can’t wait to see her.
