Kaithy Duguid has no past experience as a cheerleader. However, for the 36 drivers she oversees, she enjoys sending them off on a good note.
Her business, KKD Logistics, is a delivery service in partnership with Amazon.
She learned of the partnerships available through Amazon, while working with her mom, who is another Amazon partner.
Then Amazon came up with its Road to Ownership, program, which allows entrepreneurs to start their own delivery service – and Duguid was revved up.
She had wanted to be her own boss since she was a little girl. She admits she was always opinionated, a hard worker and has had other businesses. With this one, Amazon provides training and makes $30,000 available to its delivery service partners.
Customers get their packages from trucks located at a new delivery station in Cohoes. She says it is a tough job, but her 80 employees are always front and center on her mind.
They have a mutual respect for one another, said Duguid, and she knows without them her dreams don’t come true.
