The fire broke out Sunday afternoon in Spencertown.
The fire company there tells us by the time firefighters were called to the scene, the fire had spread to three acres.
By the time they knocked down the flames, it had burned six acres.
Crews said this time of year with the humidity so low and winds that are just right, it doesn’t take much to start a brush fire.
The National Weather Service even issued a fire weather watch for some counties in our area.
