A change in your routine can bring about significant positive changes. That holds true for two New Yorkers.
The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports has released a mini-documentary called “Routine For Recovery.” It tells the stories of two people, a man from the Bronx and a woman from Watertown, and how opioid treatment providers helped them begin treatment for opioid use disorder.
The OASAS commissioner says addiction is a medical issue and should be viewed and treated like other chronic conditions.
OASAS says there are about 50,000 people who are served annually in facilities around the state.
