Mechanicville community builds beds for kids in need

Volunteers from the New York State School Boards Association and the Mechanicville chapter of Sleep In Heavenly Peace gathered in Latham on Friday to build 20 beds for children in need.
The lack of a good, restful sleep can affect children’s ability to learn and take a toll on their physical and emotional health.
The effort was to make sure children receive the safe, comfortable place to sleep that they deserve.
