55 police officers honored at state police memorial ceremony in Albany

The lives of 55 police officers were honored in Albany on Tuesday.

Officers from eight police departments were remembered at the New York State Police Officer’s Memorial Remembrance Ceremony. Each name was added to the memorial’s black granite wall.

Gov. Kathy Hochul issued a proclamation declaring May 9 as Police Memorial Day.
