A local pitcher will take the mound professionally for the first time in nearly a decade – and it’s all for a great cause.
Former Troy High star Eric Beaulac will get the start Friday night for the ValleyCats in what he’s calling one last, great opportunity to pitch in front of family and friends.
However, there’s an even greater purpose behind the one inning he’s planning to pitch. Beaulac is raising awareness and research funding for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Growing up in Troy, he knows Joe Bruno Stadium well. So this is a full-circle moment for the former New York Mets draft pick.
