Big money is heading to the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. A grant for $3.4 million from the New York State Council on the Arts will help support the organization’s capital campaign. The goal is to update the iconic venue, repurpose the banking floor and improve accessibility.
$50,000 Powerball ticket sold in East Greenbush
A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at the East Greenbush Walmart for Wednesday’s drawing. The winning numbers are 16-21-29-53-66 and Powerball 2. The ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball. The jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is now more than $300 million.
Watervliet High School freshman nominated for honors-only physicians program
A Watervliet High School freshman has been nominated as a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders. Bella Strack will attend the event later this month outside of Boston. The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields. The purpose of the event is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the top students in the country interested in these careers.
Fulton County Athletes of the Year
Cam Abdella and Fianna Halloren were named Fulton County Athletes of the Year at a banquet in Johnstown. NewsChannel 13’s Lexi Swatt emceed the event on Wednesday night. Lexi was also a nominee for Athlete of the Year, back in 2013.
